Homemade Cranberry Sauce

Homemade Cranberry Sauce

Less than one week from Thanksgiving day! November is flying by here as we are settling into our new home. I can’t wait to put up the Christmas tree. Have you decorated yet? It’s 2020, so I won’t judge if you did it in October.

Anyway, I hope you have checked out Grace’s post on organizing your timeline for putting your meal together. She’s a wizard! It can be very stressful, but staying organized should make it less stressful and more enjoyable! So, we need to top off our delicious turkey recipe (or turkey breast!) with one more key element, cranberry sauce!

This is just in case you want to avoid the canned or jarred version… I know there are opinions on this one. I’ve used this recipe from Mom On Time Out a few times and it’s very good. It’s not as sweet as the can option, but I like the tart punch it brings to the plate. Usually you have a lot of heavy and creamy dishes, so something more fresh gives it life!

I know cranberry sauce can be controversial. What are your thoughts? Do you go for the cranberry? Or prefer gravy? I like using both! I mean, why not? It’s the day to pile everything high on your plate, so there’s no reason to skip any options that are on the table.

So, if you want a cranberry sauce that has a bit more flavor, this is the one for you. With the cinnamon and orange, it has more depth than any other I’ve tried. Again, this is a nice addition to the heaviness of your menu, and it’s a beautiful color in the array of browns! As I’ve said before, it might be worth making just for the scent that will fill your house. Make this a day or two ahead and keep it in the fridge for the big day.

Happy prepping!
