Homemade Whipped Cream

Nothing elevates a dessert or breakfast like homemade whipped cream

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2-3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste or extract
  • 1/2 tsp lemon zest optional

Instructions

  • Use stand mixer on medium speed to begin whipping heavy cream
  • As soon as it starts to thicken, add vanilla and sugar (if using lemon zest, add this too)
  • If you prefer a sweeter cream, add more sugar. It doesn't need to be super sweet because you will usually put this on something sweet like fruit or chocolate!
  • Turn stand mixer on high and allow cream to whip for a few minutes
  • When stiff peaks have formed, serve immediately!
  • Store in the fridge for a day or two if needed. Best consumed fresh!
