Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine dry ingredients in a medium bowl.
Pour buttermilk in and mix with a spoon or your hands very gently until just combined.
Add in raisins and stir gently to evenly distribute.
Turn out onto a floured surface and shape into a ball.
Place on parchment lined sheet and use a knife to cut a deep X on top. Bake on the middle rack for 27-30 minutes until golden brown.
Let cool and eat the same day.
