Maple Hot Buttered Rum

This fall cocktail is great for sitting around the bonfire and sipping a warm drink.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lemon
  • course salt
  • 4 oz apple cider
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 oz dark rum
  • 1/2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

  • Take half a lemon and rub the rim of a heat-safe glass. Roll the rim through course salt to coat.
  • Bring the apple cider and the vanilla extract to a low boil.
  • Pour dark rum into the prepared glass and then pour in the heated cider/vanilla mixture. Stir.
  • Top with a pat of butter (about 1/2 a tablespoon) and drizzle maple syrup over the top.
