Take butter of out fridge so it softens
In a stand mixer with paddle attachment, combine butter, sugar, and vanilla until smooth
Place walnuts in a zip lock bag and crush with mallet or rolling pin. You can also chop them with a knife if you prefer.
Add the walnuts and flour to the butter mixture.
Combine until dough forms.
Roll small balls of dough and place on cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Bake on 325 F for about 25 minutes or until slightly brown.
After cooling for a few minutes, and while cookies are still warm, roll cookies in confectioners sugar.
Cool completely and enjoy!
